The firm represents both individuals and health care facilities to secure the appointment of a Guardian of the Person and Property throughout the state of Maryland. Guardianship proceedings are initiated when there are no other means to protect an individual. For example, if an individual is incompetent and cannot consent to necessary medical care, guardianship may be necessary. Furthermore, if an individual is incapacitated and cannot access a bank account to pay for his or her needs, guardianship may be needed to access the account.
We regularly file guardianship pleadings as counsel for the Petitioner. Additionally, our attorneys serve as counsel for the alleged disabled person and are often appointed by the court to serve as Guardian of the Property.
